The SonoBed Atlas

Previously: 2000 Series Cardiac Item #2075.

The SonoBed Atlas is the best-selling cardiac exam bed since 2001. This bed offers a combined imaging drop section with our patented Original Wedge Section, enabling the sonographer to easily place patients on their side for the left lateral decubitus position. Putting the patient into the optimal position allows the sonographer to easily obtain the apical view.

More about the Original Wedge Section: The Original Wedge Section was invented and patented by HMP owner, Jason Stasney, RVT, RDCS, who saw early on in his career that ‘stuffing a pillow’ behind each patient consumed too much time and ended up not always working. The bigger the patient, the more a built-in positioning mechanism was needed.

Not only was it inconvenient to pillow stuff, but it was also hard on the sonographer’s body. As Jason began to learn more about ergonomics, he found other sonographers who were struggling to position their patients as well.

The SonoBed Hugo

Previously: SonoBed Cardiac Item #4007

The SonoBed Cardiac model was originally invented to handle all areas of ultrasound in one room. This was the intention in 2000 when this model became our second line of exam beds. With its cardiac drop section, built-in patient positioning wedge, dropping foot panel, and hidden stirrups, this bed could do it all while lifting 600 lbs. and holding up to 900 lbs. at its lowest setting.

This is the model small rural hospitals and clinics turn to. The SonoBed line has evolved and adapted in the past 20 years and now has several models to choose from for those who need that dropping foot panel.

Over the years, the SonoBed line has gained a following for offering a great place for patient consultations. Raise the head of the bed, drop the foot panel, and you have a chair for patients to remain in after the exam so the physician may come into the room and discuss their test results. This works well for bariatric patients, too.

The SonoBed Falcon

Item #1050

On a budget and don’t know if you can afford a cardiac exam bed? Meet the Falcon. The SonoBed Falcon is a lot like its predecessor, the SonoBed Atlas, but without the Original Wedge SectionTM.

After hearing of the sonographer’s limited budget for equipment, we came up with a cardiac exam bed for $4900 – you get a 13” x 13” imaging drop section, electric height and fowler, along with 5” locking casters. The Falcon has all the ergonomic options available as the Hugo and Atlas, minus the Wedge. It’s a great ergonomic start for fellow sonographers currently using a stretcher or other inferior type exam bed.

For vascular exams, the Hart offers 45° Trendelenburg, a built-in footboard, and an articulating arm board. A complete bed model for both areas of ultrasound.
